A small note on me
Es ist nicht die Aufgabe des Künstlers, I was born and raised in a small town in the Green Heart of Holland. In 1989 I became a student at the University of Techology in Delft and did Architecture and Townplanning until becoming an engineer in 1996. In 1991 I moved to Den Haag, where I still live. I spent my spare time in front of my monitor, on my bike or in my hikingboots in the (cultivated) nature of Europe, and I also like to visit all kinds of towns. Apart from Siberia, there is no place outside Europe I want to visit right now; Europe is utterly cool and has too many faces to get bored. I like to wander around and read the history from the landscape - it's where I get my inspiration from . I always felt a need to write things down, thoughts, stories, notes, everything. Some might say writing is a hobby or a job, to me it is a neurosis. I wouldnt write if anybody else wrote enough good stuff to keep me reading for ages, because, in fact, I am very lazy. I will keep on writing until there are no more words to be written. I do read a lot and learn a lot while reading. I read both fiction and non-fiction, comics, poetry and prose, books for kids, fantasy and literature. I dont own a television, I havent got time to watch. I like playing records (the round vinyl stuff) and if you want you can ask me to play on your party :-) I am pretty good at it, even drunk or tired, or both (Kids: dont try this at home!). Besides records, I also play a bit of bassguitar. I am very proud of the fact that I play even worse than Sid Vicious (and everybody knows how awful that was). More creativity? Oh yes, I hardly have time to live. I paint, both monocolour walls and multicolour paintings. I make drawings and I am into photography. Being a Child of the Eighties (I am only a year younger than the Internet, then called ARPANET), computers came pretty late into my life. The first one I worked on was a Macintosh Classic, way back in 1992.
My current computer is a new iMac rev. B (known as the AK47), bought in 1999, and my beloved iBook iRene (2002). Right after buying the iMac, I went online and experimented with homepages. My first try-out homepage was published in february 2000. Now, I use HTML a lot, because I think hypertexts have a future in more surroundings than internet. For my fascination about fantasyworlds, see [About Daleth]. If you still hadn't enough of me, why don't you check my other projects? You can find them under this link.
I do have ICQ (I keep forgetting the number, ask for it if you want to have it), but I don't chat very often there. If you want contact you'd better mail. I like to think about things before I write them down and send them... You can catch me in German on IRC, server de.quakenet.org, #weltenbastler. Still hadn't enough? Then mail me at daleth@xs4all.nl |
