Secret Miller Code

The millers of Holland have a secret code. In times of danger, they can communicate with each other over long distances with the signals that their windmills give.
There are four basic signs in the miller code:

The +, the x and the “gone” and the “come”.
In ancient times, the X could be decorated to sign to others a party was going on and every one could join in with the orgy. The gone meant “someone has died” and the “come” that a baby was born. The X stood for a long break (it made the windmill low, so lightning had less chance to strike). The + meant a short break.

Now in the 21st century, the millers who had no longer telegraph, telephone or internet to communicate, they invented some extra signs. These were made with the flaps that each wing has (without the flaps, the wings won’t work). The flaps can be put on the wings all the way or just half way (just covering half a wing). And each of the flaps can operate individually.
A few possible combinations:

Combining flapless, half-flapped and full-flapped wings with the four basic signs provides enough signs to have in-depth communication.

Of course, this only works when the visibility is good and smog, smoke and fog don’t obscure sight. It can only be done in daylight, the miller who had his wings lit still regrets the fact that his mill burned down. This was taken for a clear sign: Mill On Fire! but this sign is not in the secret millers code...
