Pirates of the Wattenmeer, 2003
The pirates of the Wattenmeer is drawn with a 0.5 HB-pencil on paper, just like that. I made it in a coffeeshop in Stavoren and finished it on the boat to Enkhuizen. It depicts the meeting of three friends in Harlingen, who all sailed away the other day. Half of it is fantasy, but the portraits look real, although I never had a picture of these persons.
The title and the theme are inspired by “Pirates of the Caribbean”, of course, but other gimmicks, like the joints, are taken from “Dutch Courage”, a novel of mine. Two of the pirates are German, hence the name “Wattenmeer”.
From left to right: Captain Mad Jack, Captain Shark, Captain Redbeard.

LEGAL STUFF:
On this web site, I present a few pictures. Please do not hotlink to them, or any other of my pictures for that matter; the bandwidth on Portland is very limited. I have to pay for extra bandwidth, and if that is because you do hotlink, it is, in my eyes, not only stealing bandwidth from me, but also very real money. Appropriate measures will be taken against you in that case.
Needless to say, I hope, is that all pictures on these site are copyright protected. This means that you can’t take them and publish them elsewhere without my permission. If you want to have permission, write to schlimazlnik@yahoo.co.uk before you publish the pictures.
