Maniro Spindauns is the most famous architect of Daleth. He grew up in the Weslanan, then moved to Ildritz to learn architecture at the famous Academy of Art and the Imperial College of Technics. He adopted a traditional style of architecture, and borrowed details from many Dalethian regional construction styles.

He was very popular in certain circles, but he was despised by the depressionist from the "Hvoftuli". They claimed his art had nothing to do with regular life in Daleth and that his buildings were a fraud to art. One of the "Hvoftulists" was put in prison for an attempt to set fire to one of Spindauns buildings in Ildritz (it was unclear which one was meant).
Another point they had, was that Spindauns buildings were "overregional", they could be built anywhere in Daleth and never really fit in into the surroundings. And they were old fashioned: the buildings were not build with the latest technics nor did they have any room for modern technics.

But among Spindauns admireres were the Emperor and many more of the Dalethian elite, who hired him to design their houses, gardens, and even some small suburbs. They made Spindauns not only famous, but also very rich. His fame got him a job as a Master in the Academy of Arts, his wealth provided him his own castle in the city of Hveitsvar (in traditional style, of course).
This love for the traditional was shared with the peasants who saw a certain likeliness to the buildings they knew from their youth in Spindauns architecture. His style became known as Maniroism and he had many followers, in the Academy and a lot of "free-builders".

Maniro died young in 1827. He had build a tower in Wymar and during the festivities he got drunk, climbed the tower, and fell off. He broke his neck and died in the same instant. His grave in Hveitsvar is decorated with a tomb he designed long before his death. People claim it is the best example of Maniroism in Daleth, others say it is the ugliest thing they ever saw, and maybe it is both.
