The New Atlas of the World PrefaceCiniz is to some of us the centre of the world. We know Daleth and the meaning of Doravor. But if Ciniz is the centre, what surrounds this country? There is, of course, the Empire of Daleth and its neighbouring states. But what is beyond? Many adventurers have set out to find an answer to this question. Some returned, some even returned sane. Their diaries and maps have been studied and gathered to make this New Atlas of the World. With only one source for some new lands, one can never be sure about the truth. But this New Atlas provides more than we had thus far, and might be the inspiration for new adventurers to explore this new lands and to search for what lays beyond them. SourcesFrom the academic library in Ciniz: the Log of Verenz The Sailor of Ciniz who sailed to Goodwater in 1525 AFO and made notes on the Luban Coast, South-Anthastahts and the realms of Goodwater. In 1601 AFO the lands became known as Ahvagotiaz or Gudahland (sometimes misspelled Guhdalaland).Verenz mentioned a lot of large islands beyond Goodwater, just on the horizon, where the mountains made clouds and the forests glow in the dark of the night. This is most probably volcanic activity. Northern-Anthastahts was discovered by Master Sryp when the ship he sailed on was blown away by a storm and was wrecked upon the shore of this continent. Master Sryps memories The other side of the sea and some navigation-instructions from Fanigawi (collection of the Faunèz library) have been used to map this part of the world. Vuersatija (or Bakasopad) is the archipelago that has been visited by the Lubans for centuries. The many navigation books and sailing logs from the Naval University of Jasiwired have been used to map the isles. The books mention a large continent in the very south, but this has never been visited by the Lubans. It is known as Zahan, because it was, according to the people of Vuersatija, the place their people came to life in the large nest of a Thwaleis, that was washed upon the shore there in a mythological past. The Naval University of Jasiwired also mentions a large continent in the east. The people of Lãsutyq believe their lost kinsmen sailed east. Pãsko kMerig, the well-know nomad hero, left his homeland and joined forces with a woman from Dernian Landis he met in Diwàn to find his kinsmen. They sailed to the east in 1673 AFO, discovered a large land they called Ëmentqë (traders from Dernian Landis say it means The land over there) and a large island they named Artymãr. Pãsko mentions Vuersatija as an easy way to sail to Ëmentqë. The couple stayed several years on Artymãr where they had children. The settlement they stayed in was named Pwnt. Pãskos adventures have been recorded and can be found in the academy in Chiirÿtët. A translation from the University of Ciniz has been used to map the eastern continent. The legendary Trigohaima is known from the Naglani. They have more stories from the very north and these have been used to map the northern part of our world. Related topics: |
