The language of flowers

Some flowers have a meaning in Daleth. When one is offered a bunch, the kind of flowers tells more than is actually said:

Flowers and silent music

In Vîmeir was a group of musicians who made beautiful silent music, but put the words in their songs by presenting the flowers to the audience. The band was called Torrn. One of their songs was (fragment):
Red rose, red rose, blue iris, fern leaf, white lily, martac, blue iris, red rose white lily. And so on.
The audience loved it and a lot of girls went wild while listening to Torrn.

Flower language in times of War

In the Separation War, whole secret messages were put in flower speak. A large bunch of flowers -carefully arranged- was responsible for the fall of Isauls. The bunch was dried and is still shown in the Town hall of Isauls. The bunch consists of -among others-: Blue iris, black rose, martac, 5-petalled snowcrusher, Snakeheart, and a blue feather.
A bunch of the same sort was sent to Scholvan, but a camzyg has eaten the flowers. For that reason, Scholvan never fell to Salamandran.

The flower languages as a secret languages has used often in wars. Clever soldiers of the Weslanan once had a bunch of flowers with them, when they were caught by the enemy. The soldiers denied that the flowers contained a secret message. The enemies, however, brought the bunch to their officers and they tried to crack the code. The never managed to get a message out of it. Only when the soldiers were tortured, they said the flowers got a message. After that, the soldiers were set free. Later they claimed they had lied. The flowers did not contain any secret message, but were picked for the lover of one of the soldiers...

Black Roses

The black roses that only grow in Ciniz are the trademark of that country. More than that, the black rose is the personal flower of the Counts of Ciniz. The rose is the background of the seal of Ciniz. It is usually stamped in black sealing-wax. All wines of Ciniz show the black rose as well.
When the black rose is offered to some one and the flower is accepted, the person is engaged to the house of Ciniz.
