Took a cou­ple of days off and went to Ham­burg again. Not hav­ing planned the trip very well I found out the Ham­burg marathon was planned that week­end, which meant the place was booked dur­ing the week­end and I had to slight­ly change the plan. Plan B was to move down the Elbe riv­er to the apt­ly named is­land "Kraut­sand", but not be­fore eat­ing Scholle Finken­werder art in my fave restau­rant "Zur El­bkate" on the Oevel­goen­ner Hohlweg.

Kraut­sand has all the nau­ti­cal el­e­ments mak­ing up a won­der­ful at­mos­phere. And the al­most full moon was a nice ad­di­tion to it. I didn't plan that full moon ei­ther, but it's some­thing to keep in mind while plan­ning. (The full moon on the snow in In­ter­lak­en also wasn't planned, but added some­thing spe­cial.) While try­ing to fig­ure out how to get back it turned out the boat to Ham­burg isn't a bad op­tion. In 65 min­utes the Elbe-City-Jet takes you from Stader­sand near Kraut­sand to St. Pauli, and from there it's no prob­lem to take the Hochbahn to the Cen­tral Sta­tion.
