It has been a long time since I've done hard­ware up­grades. Most of the up­grades were can­ni­balised old of­fice ma­chines and the last mem­o­ry I bought was 4 x 8MB for about $800. I'm not like rak­so, so buy­ing 1GB of mem­o­ry for my iBook and un­screw­ing 4 screws un­der the key­board to slide it in is about as far as I cur­rent­ly go on the hard­ware up­grade scale. I didn't pay $300 in the Ap­ple Store, but about EUR 130 in da MacHouse.
