IE 6 No More No More ==================== Wednesday 5 August 2009 12:31 While topics like this are still able to trend on twitter, you know twitter is mostly used by a certain kind of media professionals. And the other trending topics are also just what those media professionals are interested in, not what the general population is interested in. And to illustrate the intelligence of those media professionals: 10 out of 12 "popular web companies" whine about IE6 while the code of their homepage doesn't even validate: * Weebly 45 errors * Justin.tv 46 errors * Disqus 204 errors * Posterous 36 errors * Divvyshot 113 errors * Buxfer 268 errors * twitluv 5 errors * happn.in cannot be checked * Defensio.com 3 errors * 31bits.com cannot be checked You can of course try to convince your boss it's IE6's fault the site you created looks like shit in that browser, but don't go all over the internet with that crap. It makes you look like shit as well. The following two sites validated, but I can't see why they would have trouble supporting IE6: * digital dandelion Valid HTML Strict! * Reddit.tv Valid XHTML Strict! by Roland van Ipenburg http://www.xs4all.nl/~ipenburg/blog/posts/work/2009/08/05/ie-6-no-more-no-more/
