Standard Definition =================== Saturday 27 June 2009 03:18 It can't be just the TV-Moderatorinnen. I'm watching just via DVB-T on a 40" Sony Bravia and if Judith Rakers changes lipstick brands I think there is something wrong with my picture. And we're looking at only 720x576 tops here, imagine going to the full 1920x1080. You can't look good in 1920x1080 unless you really know what you're doing. What I think german TV has nailed is that their whole studio setup is tuned really well for HD. And my Bravia does it's part also, but it goes all the way from makeup, lighting, backgrounds and clothing to probably a bunch of digital filtering that makes the picture look like it was worth buying a Fucking Big Television. It has little to do with reality, but it looks good. And it makes the rest look bad. Like a cropped video of Michael Jackson with the most important part of his moonwalk cut off at the bottom. And when was the last time you saw the top of Obama's head on television? by Roland van Ipenburg http://www.xs4all.nl/~ipenburg/blog/posts/dull/2009/06/27/standard-definition/
