Lots of stupid people ===================== Monday 18 May 2009 17:28 It seems that when you live in a country for a long time you gather a lot of information that you then use to judge and ignore stupid people. So even if someone from an organization that doesn't have a retarded religious or naive stoner label in it's name says something, you know they fall into the retarded religious naive stoner category and you've ignored them before you know it. When you move to another country those filters aren't trained yet, so it appears there are a lot more stupid people. And combined with a different language, I often notice myself reading some article on dnews twice or more times because I can't believe someone is actually saying such incredible stupid things. 'Petition einer Minderheit'. Duh. A petition isn't a referendum. Even if it was just one guy with a convincing objection against some plan, that doesn't mean his objection gets less convincing. The majority doesn't and doesn't need to know how stuff works, but that shouldn't be a reason for those who got elected by them to be ignorant about how stuff works also. And if you can agree with something that is sinnvol and wirksam and apparently only the wirksam part is disputed, it's still sinnvol? And just because I can beton something that doesn't make it true. Is it even legal to set up polls like this? by Roland van Ipenburg http://www.xs4all.nl/~ipenburg/blog/posts/dull/2009/05/18/lots-of-stupid-people/
